Make it a weekend sweep for Providence College over the UMaine Black Bears after Saturday night's 4-2 win at Alfond Arena.

The loss drops Maine to 4-10-2 in Hockey East, 7-17-7 overall.

The #6 ranked Friars improve to 10-3-3 and 19-5-4.

Unlike Friday night when the only goal of the game came in overtime, last night the two teams combined for four goals in the first period. Each team scored twice. The Maine goals from Eric Schurhamer and Brendan Robbins.

But just five minutes into the second period, the Friars got the lead again on a Brian Pinho goal. An early third period goal made it 4-2 and that was all of the scoring on the night.

Maine goalie Matt Morris stopped 34 shots, Nick Ellis stopped 32 for Providence.

It doesn't get any easier for the Black Bears as they go to South Bend, Indiana next weekend to play Notre Dame.
