After all the hype and all the drama, the Super Bowl will actually be played this weekend.

Super Bowl XLVII (that’s 47, for you Roman illiterates) pits the San Francisco 49ers versus the Baltimore Ravens, in a matchup of head coaching brothers – San Francisco’s Jim Harbaugh and Baltimore’s John. It’s also the final game in the stories and controversial career Ravens linebacker and future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis.

While the Super Bowl is unquestionably the marquee game of the weekend, the sports landscape is littered with other intriguing matchups, most notably in the college basketball ranks where top-ranked Michigan and third-ranked Indiana will square off on Saturday, headlining a flurry of top 25 action that serves as an appetizer for March Madness. The NHL will also witness the renewal of the Pittsburgh-Washington rivalry when they take to the ice on Sunday afternoon.
