Sophomore Taylor Schildroth led the No. 1 George Stevens Academy past a tough Bucksport team Saturday night in Bangor to claim the Class C North crown and a date at the state finals.

The Eagles pulled away in the second half to a 55-43 win behind tough defense and a strong performance from Schildroth, who finished with 32 points.

No. 3 Bucksport started the game with a 10-0 run before the Eagles reeled them in during the final game of the night at the Cross Insurance Center. The Bucks were able to cut the lead to single digits in the fourth quarter, but could come no closer than 9 points.

George Stevens will play South champ Waynflete Flyers at 8:45 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 27 at the Augusta Civic Center.
