The Hampden high school hockey team went into Mondays game without their entire top line. however they did have goalie Ryan Manning and it was enough to beat John Bapst 2-1.

With the game tied at one late in the third period, Sophomore forward Vincent Gilmore knocked the puck past Crusaders net minder Sam Lander with 2:11 to play and it held for the game winner improving the Broncos record to 6-4-2.

The Crusaders dominated the first period and took a 1-0 lead into the locker room on a goal by Logan Cyr-Ellis, his second of the season. Hampden regained the momentum in the second and tied the game when a deflected puck popped into the air hitting Lander in the back and going into the goal. Dylan Cray got credit for the goal and Ryan Richards the assist.

Goaltending was tremendous in this game with the Broncos getting 26 saves from Manning and Lander 22 for the Crusaders who fall to 6-6. The win moves the Broncos up to number five in the latest standings.
