Great Start For Jones At Public Links

Thomaston's Ricky Jones is on a roll. Four days after winning the Maine Amateur he fired a 1-under-par 69 in the first round of the U.S. Public Links Tournament.Much like he did in the Maine tourney, Jones played steady par golf for the most part with three birdies and just one bogey. Round two takes place Tuesday and Jones needs to finish in the top 64 to advance to match play competition.

In addition to his Maine Amateur title Jones also won the Paul Bunyan Amateur this spring.
