Sam Grindle and Matt Greenleaf took home amateur golf championships with tournament wins Sunday.Grindle claimed back-to-back titles in the Bunyan Amateur championship after shooting 1-under par 71 at the Falmouth Country Club and a two-day toal of 141. His total was one shot better than Malcom Oliver and 8 shots better than third place finisher Drew Powell of Bangor.

While the Bunyan tournament is in its 51st season, the Downeast-Metro tournament concluded the inagural event with Matt Greenleaf of Portland taking the title. Greenleaf finished with a 2 round total of 142 after shooting even par in the final round at Bangor Municipal Golf Course. Greenleaf was 2 shots better than Ricky Jones of Thomaston and Jack Wyman of South Freeport who was the runner-up in last years Bunyan tourney.
