The final tie has been broken for high school football playoff positions and the Houlton Shires are in for the first time getting the #6 seed in class D.

In the LTC the Shires and Bucksport finished with the same crabtree points, head-to-head was out as they did not play each other, and after going 10 places out from the decimal point, the third tie-breaker of total heal points could still not break the tie. At this point conference wins are used giving Houlton with 4 wins the final playoff spot over Bucksport who had 3 wins.

In class C the Winslow Black Raiders closed out with a 35-0 win over Waterville putting them in a first place tie with Old Town with records of 8-0. The fourth tie-breaker was needed which was a coin toss that was won by Old Town. The Coyotes will be the #1 seed and have home field throughout, Winslow will be the #2 seed.

A flip of the coin was also needed to determine the #5 & #6 seeds. Foxcroft Academy won that toss for the #5 seed while Oceanside gets the #6 spot.
