The Hampden Academy Broncos started a brand new home winning streak with a 63-45 victory over Skowhegan on Thursday night.

The Broncos were able to sweep the season series against the Indians behind a game-high 19 points from Kory Winch who hit four three-pointers in the contest.  Thomas Raye also had 13 points for Hampden, while Ross Webb had 11.  Brendan Curran led Skowhegan with 13 points in the loss.

The game was tight early on with Hampden leading by just three after the first quarter.  Ian McIntyre found himself in early foul trouble and spend the majority of the time on the bench in the first half of play.  Winch picked up the slack with 13 first half points to help give the Broncos the advantage.  Hampden would extend the lead with a 13-3 third quarter and eased into their 13th win of the season.

With the victory the Broncos remain in second place in Class A North with a 13-3 record and started a new win streak at home after their streak of 62 victories was ended last Friday night.  Skowhegan falls to 8-7 on the season as the vie for a place in the Class A tourney later this month.
