Hampden’s Martin Leads East

Hampden Academy quarterback Matt Martin led the East to a 32-13 win over the West in the 25th annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl.Martin ran for 3 touchdowns and threw for 183 yards and another touchdown. For his efforts he also took home the game’s MVP award. The East dominated on the offensive side of the ball out gaining the West 512 yards to 269.

When the East didn’t have the ball, their defense did a good job getting it back as they came away with 3 interceptions. Bangor high senior Xavier Lewis had 2 of those picks.

The East have now won back-to-back games and 6 of the last 9 match-ups. The West still leads the all-time series 17-8.
