Former Lewiston High School standout Isaiah Harris will run for the NCAA Division I national title in the 800M event Friday night in Eugene, Oregon.

The sophomore runner for Penn State turned in the second fastest time last night in the semi-finals of the 800M. His time was 1:46.62.

Harris, who also played football and basketball at Lewiston, won the Big 10 Conference 800M title and owns the school record in the event.

Friday night (approx 9:45pm) he will be one of eight runners competing for the NCAA title.

Another NCAA D - I competitor in Oregon is Kate Hall from the University of Georgia. She punched her ticket to the championship by setting a school long jump record of 21-11 at the regionals.

Her competition at the nationals is tonight (approx 9pm).

Hall still owns the Maine high school long jump record, plus the 100m and 200m records while running for Lake Region HS.
