The UMaine women's basketball team run to the NCAA tournament is over. The #5 Hartford Hawks knocked off the Bears in Sunday's semi-final 65-54. Maine will have to settle for a WNIT bid.

The #1 Bears struggled all day shooting the ball, just 22-for-72 (30%). That includes 7-for-34 from the three-point line.

Cherelle Moore led the Hawks with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bears were led by Sophie Weckstrom with 13, Sigi Koizar with 12. Liz Wood fouled out of the game in the late minutes with no points and 11 rebounds.

Maine is 23-8 and will get a WNIT bid for being America East regular season champ.

The 16-16 Hartford Hawks meet the Albany Great Danes in the conference championship game on Friday.

NOTE:  It will be Albany vs Stony Brook in the men's America East title game. That game will be played Saturday morning.
