Dont'a Hightower will not be playing for the New England Patriots again in 2017, as he will miss the remainder of the season with an injury that was reported on Thursday morning.

Hightower signed a 4-year contract with the Pats this past off-season worth $35 million, $17 million of that being guaranteed.  He also was one of the captains for the team's defense as well.

David Harris, who signed with the Pats this past summer and just returned from his own injury, will likely see an increased role moving forward.  The NFL trade deadline is October 31st.
