With UConn coming into Hockey East next season, the league has decided all 12 teams will make post-season in 2014-2015. The first two rounds will be best-2-of-3 series on campus sites.

Hockey East says 72,000 fans watched the 17 HE playoff games this past season. UMass-Lowell won the tournament championship.

Under the new format, there could be as many as 27 playoff games.
