It looks like Hodgdon High School softball coach Sarah Williams is the only coach from Maine to make it to the Top-15 stage in the Most Valuable Coach program, sponsored by U.S. Cellular.

50 coaches from around the country ( five from Maine) were nominated and online voting was conducted through noon today.

Williams finished with 4.42% of the votes and that is 6th among the 50 coaches.

The top 15 vote getters earn $5,000 for their school and also move on to the next stage starting Thursday through November 13th. A panel of judges and online voting will decide the top three coaches with the winning coach getting $50,000 for their school, second place getting $20,000 and third place receiving $10,000.

Other coaches from Maine that were in the top 50 voting were Paula Doughty (Skowhegan Field Hockey), Dave Morris (Bangor Baseball, Football), Sharon Gallant (Gardiner Field Hockey) and Anthony Amero (Forest Hills Basketball).

The final Top-15 list of coaches will be revealed on Thursday.
