It's official. The Red Sox are in the playoffs. A 7-2 come-from-behind win over Toronto last night assures the Sox of at least a wildcard spot.

In reality, they are on their way to a division title, now with a 99-46 record and a nine game lead over the Yankees.

Chris Sale made his return to the hill after a second stint on the disabled list. He threw 26 pitches, struck out two, gave up a double and a walk. He threw the rest of his 40 pitches in the bullpen during the game.

Now comes the wait to see how the shoulder feels over the next few days.

Meanwhile, it looked like the offense took a night off - until the 7th and 8th innings came along.

The big hit was a three-run pinch hit home run from Brock Holt in the 7th. The blow turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 lead.

From there, the Sox bullpen did its job.

In fact, manager Alex Cora used seven different pitchers after Sale's first inning to get the 27 outs.

The Red Sox go for their 100th win of the season tonight. Live coverage on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket begins at 6:25pm.
