Former UMaine goalies Jimmy Howard and Ben Bishop did their thing last night in the NHL - winning games. But, their great play is making it harder on the Boston Bruins.

Howard made 18 saves in Detroit's 3-2 over Buffalo.

The win pulls the Red Wings within one points of third place Boston.

Meanwhile, Bishop and the Tampa Bay Lightning shutout the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-0. Bishop had 34 saves.

That gives Tampa Bay two more points ahead of the B's.
