Husson Baseball &Softball Clean Up NAC Awards

  The Husson University baseball and softball teams claimed 5 of the 6 North Atlantic Conference weekly awards on Monday.Shawn Smith is the player of the week after getting 9 hits, 6 rbi's and 3 stolen bases. J.T. Whitten is the Rookie of the Week thanks to a .412 batting average that included a 3-run home run and 53 putouts defensively.

The softball team swept all three awards with Aimee Mortensen getting player of the week honors. The infielder went 11-20 at the plate with 5 doubles, a home run, 7 rbi's and 9 runs scored. Deb Colpitts had 2 wins which included a no-hitter and was named the Pitcher of the Week. Sami Shultz is the rookie of the week. The freshman from Hermon batted .619 with 3 home runs and 13 rbi's.

The softball team played 8 games, all wins, and outscored their opponents 97-13.
