Husson Baseball, Softball Earn Weekly Awards

The North Atlantic Conference on Monday sent lots of hardware to Husson University with Player of the Week awards going to both baseball and softball.Jordan Carter of the baseball team was named Player of the Week after driving in 9 runs and helping the Eagles go 6-0 last week. He had two game winning hits and a game tying 2-run double that sent a game to extra innings where Husson picked up another win.

Allie Hill was named the conference softball Player of the Week after batting .600 with a homerun and 5 rbi. Her teammate Kayla Merrill is the Pitcher of the Week. Merrill pitched 6 no-hit innings with 9 strikeouts in an 8-0 win over UMaine Farmington. That win was the 25th in her career and puts her 5th on the Husson all--time win list.
