Husson Baseball, Softball Score Wins
After dropping three of four conference games last week the Husson baseball team rebounded to sweep Lyndon State on Saturday afternoon in Vermont.The Eagles cruised to an 11-3 win in the first game and held on for a 3-1 win in the nightcap.
Husson racked up 12 hits in the opener and was led by catcher Jordan Carter who had 2 ad drove in 3 runs. J.T. Whitten, Kyle Bishop and Chase Allen also had 2 hits appiece.
Robert Graff did not need much run support in the second game as he dominated form the mound pitching a complete game 2-hitter. Graff who is the reigning North Atlantic Conference pitcher of the week struck out 8 and walked 3 to pick up the win.
The Husson softball team split a double header at Castleton State on Saturday dropping a tough 3-2 opening game in 9 innings.
Husson cruised to a 10-1 win in the second game as their bats came alive to the tune of 12 hits. Sami Schultz homered and drove in 2 while Deb Colpitts had 2 hits and 4 rbi and gave the Spartans their first conference loss.
Husson is now 15-9 overall and 4-2 in the North Atlantic Conference.
