Husson University softball will play for a 7th straight North Atlantic Conference championship today after posting 2 wins on the opening day of the tournament.The Eagles beat Thomas College 3-1 in the opener with all of their runs coming on a Sami Schultz 3-run homer.

Husson then blew out New England College 9-0 in a mercy rule shortened 6 innings. Schults had another big game with 3 more hits and 2 rbi while Chelsea Brennan added a 3-run homer.

The Eagles will play the winner of Thomas College and New England College at 2pm for the title.

Husson baseball was able to stave off elimination in the conference tournament with a 9-3 win over UMaine-Farmington. Adam Wilson's 3-run homer in the top of the 4th inning gave the Eagles the lead for good while J.T. Whitten added a solo shot in the 6th.

Robert Graff went the distance on the mound allowing 3 runs on 9 hits to improve his record to 6-0.

Husson will meet the loser of Thomas and Castleton State at 12 noon in an elimination game.
