The Husson University football team is off to a 3-1 start to the season and a look at the national stats shows the defense is a major contributor to their success.The Eagles are currently ranked 3rd in the nation among 241 division III schools allowing a stingy 176 yards per game. After a season opening loss to Alfred University the Eagles defense has given up just 16 total points in the last 3 games.

Grant Caserta is in his first season as the Husson Defensive coordinator, taking over a unit that was among the leaders last season and returned all but starters.
