Husson Drops Double-Header
The University of Maine baseball team split a double-header at Binghamton, winning the first game 3-0 before dropping the second game 7-1.Senior pitcher Tommy Lawrence pitched the complete game 6-hit shutout and struckout 7 in game one. Alex Calbick led the offense with three hits and an rbi.
In game two, the Bearcats got eight hits and four runs off starter Shaun Coughlin and cruised to the win. The series wraps up today with a single game at 12 noon.
The UMaine softball team had a tough day on the road losing two games to Stony Brook by scores of 1-0 and 3-1.
The Husson baseball team lost a pair of non-conference games at Endicott College Saturday after allowing double-digit runs in both games. The Gulls took the first game 15-5 and the second 13-4.
The Husson softball team remained undefeated in conference play by sweeping New England College in North Atlantic Conference play Saturday. In game 1 Allie Hill hit a walk-off single to give the Eagles an 11-10 win in the first game. Husson needed only 5-innings to win the second game 13-0.
The Eagles are now 19-7 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
