The Husson softball team makes its 6th straight appearance in the NCAA tournament today when they face Kean University, the host of this four team regional.Todays game is also the first NCAA regional for Head Coach Kristie Hawkins who took over the program this season. The Eagles enter the game with a 30-10 record after winning the North Atlantic Conference last week. The Cougars have a record of 32-11 this season, and an all-time record of 11-15 in the NCAA tourney. Husson was able to get its first win at the regionals last season and are 1-10 all-time.

The Eagles are led by Kayla Merrill who is the NAC Player of the Year. Merrill is batting .409 with 9 homeruns and 45 rbi's. She has also posted a pitching record of 14-3 with an era of 2.29.

Kean has one of the best pitchers in the country in Courtney Yard who is 20-8 with 189 strikeouts, ranking her 18th in the nation.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:30, the other two teams in the regional are Keene State and Lebanon Valley.
