The Husson Eagles begin their season with a non-conference road loss at Union College (NY) 30-7. The Eagles struggled to stop the Dutchmen passing game.

Sophomore QB Will Bellamy torched Husson's secondary for 370 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Eagles offense sputtered all day. Just 66 yards rushing and 237 total yards of offense.

Union took the opening kickoff and went down the field and scored on a 21-yard pass from Bellamy to Griffin Beal.

But the Eagles would answer with a touchdown drive of their own. Freshman running back Solomon Hassen scored on a 10-yard run.

Who knew that would be the last points Husson would get on this Saturday afternoon.

Another Bellamy to Beal TD pass made it 12-7 at halftime.

The Dutchmen hit a field goal and ran for a TD in the second half to win 30-7. Union racked up 427 yards of offense.

Husson quarterback Corey Brandon started his senior year with a 20-for-30,171 yards day passing the ball. He had two interceptions.

NOTE: The Eagles play the new football kid in college football in Maine, the University of New England Nor'easters in Biddeford next Saturday. UNE is playing a full D-III schedule for the first time this fall.
