High drama at Newman Gymnasium Thursday night when the Husson men's basketball team came from behind to beat St.Joseph's 68-66 and a double overtime loss for the Husson women's basketball team to St.Joes 82-78.

In the men's game, a couple of late game three pointers from Raheem Anderson and Mitch Worcester turned a deficit into a lead.

Trevon Butler scored 19 to lead the Eagles on opening night. Anderson pumped in 14.

The women's game was also a thriller. The Eagles and Monks were tied 32-32 at halftime, tied 60-60 at the end of regulation and tied 70-70 after the first overtime.

The Monks eventually outscored Husson 12-8 in the second OT to win it.

Morgan Cahill scored 30 points and hauled down 12 rebounds to lead St.Joes.

Husson was led by Katie Brochu with 22 points and 11 boards.Stephanie Comstock and Victoria McIntyre each had 13.

It was the season opener for the Monks. Husson is 0-2.
