On the last day of the regular season the Bangor HS girls soccer team scored a 3-1 win over arch rival Hampden. The win means a #1 seed in Class A playoffs that begin next week.

Joe Johnson's Rams finish with a 13-1 record, Hampden finishes in 3rd place at 9-3-2. Bangor is the three time defending Eastern Maine champ.

In Class B, Waterville lost to Oceanside on the final day but still beat out Hermon for the #1 seed by less than one Heal Point.

In Class C, Cid Dyjak's Orono Red Riots will enter the playoffs #1. The Riots finished with a 12-1-1 record.

And in Class D, the Washburn Beavers get the #1 spot. The Aroostook County school finished the season with a 13-1 record despite that 28-day layoff during the potato harvest break.

In the boy's division, Class A's #1 team will be Hampden - thanks to a final day 2-1 win over Bangor. The Broncos finish 13-1. Lewiston will be the #2 seed. Bangor finishes as the #3 team with aa 11-3 mark.

In Class B, 500+ win coach Brian Higgins has another #1 seeded team. His Ellsworth Eagles finish with a 13-0-1 record. Ellsworth has 12 regional titles.

In Class C, the state's all time scorer Ian Lee and his Madawaska Owls are top seed with a 13-1 record. Lee has 121 career goals.

And in Class D, perhaps the tightest finish for #1 see in the state. Easton edged out Bangor Christian by a half a Heal Point. Easton was 13-01 while Bangor Christian finished 14-0 and riding a 56 game win streak as the Patriots try to win a 5th consecutive state title.
