So now that the Red Sox traded their 18-year-old top pitching prospect Anderson Espinoza is 20-year-old Michael Kopech the next rising star in the Sox system?

Wednesday night in Wilmington, North Carolina, Kopech threw a pitch that was clocked on the radar gun at 105 MPH.

He pitches for the Sox Class A Salem team - the same team Andew Benenttendi and Yoan Moncada played for before being promoted to Double-A Portland.

Kopech was drafted by the Sox in the first round of the 2014 draft. He missed 50 games last season when he was suspended for using an illegal substance. This spring he broke his pitching hand in an altercation with a teammate.

So...it appears Kopech has some growing up to do.

After pitching once for the Lowell Spinners, Kopech joined Salem last week. Check out a three strikeout inning, throwing just nine pitches...
