Sox springtime phenom Jackie Bradley Jr., is on the opening day roster and will be in the lineup Monday afternoon when the Sox play the Yankees. Skipper John Farrell made it official Sunday afternoon.

Bradley hit .419 in 28 games in Ft. Myers and forced the Sox hands to keep him. First baseman Mauro Gomez was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

Farrell said Bradley will be in left field Monday and will wear #44 instead of the #77 he had in spring training. Farrell did not say where he would be in the batting order. Lefty CC Sabathia will the starting pitcher for New York.
