Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus hit Koji Uehara's first pitch in the seventh inning to the gap and drove in two runs. It was enough to give the Rangers a 3-2 win at Fenway.

That hit broke a 1-1 tie. John Lackey had pitched six solid innings, striking out five and no walks. But Craig Breslow put the runners on base in the seventh and that when Uehara came on.

The Sox got a solo home run from Dustin Pedroia and a RBI double from Salty.

At 36-24, the Sox lead in the AL east is down to a game and a half over the Yankees.
