The Brewer Witches are off to a strong start to the season after a 38-20 victory over Nokomis this past weekend. One of the key contributors this season will likely be by Tyler Hafford, a two way player for the Witches, who almost had his football career come to an abrupt end.

Hafford was in a car accident while trying to avoid a deer that had crossed his path in the road one spring night and caused him to crash into a pole. After being hauled to the hospital, doctors discovered that he had suffered a concussion that would hinder severely his playing career and even his everyday life.

Given just a two percent chance of ever playing the sport again, Hafford defied the odds and was back on the gridiron for his junior and senior years. He scored a return touchdown against Bangor in the scrimmage game before the season and added a handful of catches last weekend.
