No more Senior League World Series at Mansfield Stadium but the Bangor ballpark will host the 8-team New England Junior Legion Baseball Tournament coming up in August.

State Junior Legion commissioner Rod Stevens says six teams from around New England, plus the state of Maine champion and a host team will make up the field for a single elimination tourney on August 4, 5 and 6 at Mansfield Stadium.

There will be 19 Junior Legion teams in Maine (age 13-16). The northern zone includes teams from Bangor, Skowhegan, Fairfield, Acadians, Hampden, Augusta (2 teams), Penquis and Messalonskee.

There are 10 teams in the southern zone.

The state Junior Legion Tourney will be played at Colby College in Waterville July 26-28.

Then the New England Tourney in Bangor the following week.

NOTE: The state of Maine Senior American Legion Baseball Tournament will also be played in Bangor, at the Winkin Complex at Husson University, July 26-30.
