Former Boston Bruins' head coach Claude Julien released a statement on Thursday morning on his firing earlier in the week by the franchise.

Julien had not talked with the media or the public since being relieved of his duties on Tuesday morning.  He was in the midst of coaching in his 10th season with the Boston Bruins, which included a Stanley Cup during the 2010-11 season.

The Bs have replaced Julien with interim coach Bruce Cassidy who will serve in that role for the remainder of the season.  Boston will be back on the ice tonight as they host the San Jose Sharks at the TD Garden at 7 p.m.
