Minot, Maine's Will Kannegieser fired a 7-over par (78) at Pebble Beach and sits tied for 236th place after day one of the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship.

Kannegieser was +3 for much of the day but took a double-bogey and two bogeys on his final few holes.

The Spyglass Hills course was not so kind to Portland's Jack Wyman who fired a 10-over par (82). He is tied for 291st place. Wyman double-bogeyed the first and last holes at Spyglass. He will play Pebble Beach today.

Both we need to shoot low scores today to qualify for the top 64 golfers to get into match play.

The leading score after day one is 4-under par.
