Fresh off a NCAA Division II national championship in the 800M event, Washburn's Carsyn Koch competes this week at the U.S. National Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Sacramento, California.

Koch is two-time D-II champ in the 800M in both indoors and outdoors running for Cedarville University in Ohio.

Her qualifying time was a split second off the time needed for the Nationals but she got an invite to compete in the both the 800M and 1500M events. She will have to decide which event she will run.

The best track and field athletes in the country compete in Sacramento. It is a qualifier for athletes to participate in the IAAF World Championships in August to be held in London.

Maine's Kate Hall, who won the NCAA Division I Long Jump national championship competing for the University of Georgia, will also compete in California. She is a former high school state champion for Lake Region HS.

Also competing is former Lewiston HS standout Isaiah Harris. He now runs the 800M for Penn State and was the NCAA D-I national runnerup in that event.

The events start Thursday in Sacramento.
