The UMaine women's basketball team won its 11th straight game while the men's team came up short on senior night.

At Hartford, the women's team beat the Hawks 50-44 for an 11th consecutive win. Sigi Koizar's 15 points led the Bears and it put her 15th on Maine's all-time scoring list.

The win puts  the Black Bears at 14-1 in America East play and 23-7 overall. The 23 wins matches last year's win mark. The final regular season game is Saturday at the Cross Center and the eight seniors will be honored before the game.

At the Cross Center in Bangor, the men's two honored its two seniors, Till Gloger and Shaun Lawton, but came up short against the Hartford Hawks 82-74.

The Bears suffer their seventh straight loss (4-11, 8-20).

After leading by seven points at the half, Maine gave up 48 second half points. Pancake Thomas led the Hawks with 23 points.

Maine freshman Isaac Vann had 23 to lead the Bears attack.

With one game left on the schedule, Maine is in a three-way tie for sixth place in the conference.
