University of Maine women's basketball senior Sigi Koizar was named to the America East Preseason All-Conference team on Wednesday.

Koizar has been named to the All-Conference first team twice in her collegiate career with the Black Bears and averaged 17.7 points per game during the 2015-16 season.  That scoring mark was the third best in the conference last season.

The senior became the 19th Black Bear in history to reach the 1,000 point milestone, which she achieved last season.  She was joined on the Preseason All-Conference Team by Imani Tate (Albany), Imani Watkins (Binghamton), Deanna Mayza (Hartford), Taylor McCarley and Pandora Wilson (UMBC).

UMaine will begin the 2016-17 campaign on October 30th when they host Stonehill in an exhibition contest and will begin regular season play on November 11th against Purdue.
