Patriots owner Robert Kraft said Wednesday morning that he has spoken to Tom Brady, and he expects the quarterback to attend the team's mandatory minicamp next month.

Brady has been absent from the Patriots' voluntary OTAs.

While speaking to the media, Kraft stressed that the workouts are voluntary and mentioned that Brady has "responsibilities" to his family.

Kraft also said that he believes Brady is in "great shape."

The Patriots owner also said that he expects tight end Rob Gronkowski to be in attendance when minicamp begins June 5.

Members of the media on Tuesday asked Patriots coach Bill Belichick about the absence of both Brady and Gronkowski, but the coach said he is "not going to talk about the people who aren’t here."
