Kyle Dube received his sentence today for the murder of 15-year-old Nichole Cable of Glenburn. Dube was found guilty of creating a false Facebook account to lure Cable out of her house, with the intention of kidnapping her. He told prosecutors he never intended to kill Cable.

After deliberating for about an hour, Justice Ann Murray reconvened the courtroom, stating that the law would not allow her to issue a life sentence on Dube. She cited his record and the fact that he had contact with other girls on Facebook before killing Nichole before issuing her decision. Kyle Dube was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the murder of Cable. He also received a 30-year concurrent sentence for the kidnapping charge.

Justice Murray heard testimony all morning, from parents of both Dube and Cable, among others. Dube did not address the court. Cable's mother, Kristine Willey, told the court today that her other children are afraid the 'bad man' will come back and that she doesn't let them ride the school bus because the end of the road is where Nichole was killed. She also asked that the court give Nichole the justice she and her family deserve.
