Lack Of Offense & Defense = Sox Loss

Boston Red Sox v Kansas City Royals Bruce Chen baffled Red Sox hitters all game, that combined with a Boston offense that committed 3 errors led to a 5-1 Royals win.Chen pitched into the 8th inning allowing just 5 hits to improve his record to 5-0. For Boston, Jon Lester was touched up for 3 runs and needed to throw 41 pitches just to get out of the first inning. The loss is his 7th of the season.

The Red Sox defense committed 3 errors in the game while Kansas City also belted 2 homeruns late in the game off Ruby De La Rosa.

Jake Peavy will try to get the Sox back on track looking for his second win in a Boston uniform Friday night. He’ll be opposed by Ervin Santana.
