Brock Lesnar shocked the fight community when it was announced that he would be returning to the octagon for UFC 200 and we now know who his opponent will be.

Mark Hunt will step into the cage versus the former heavyweight champion on July 9th as part of a loaded UFC 200 card.  Lesnar is currently 5-3 in his MMA career, losing his last two times out to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem.  The heavyweight has not fought in the octagon since UFC 141 in December of 2011 after dealing with diverticulitis.  Lesnar is still under contract by World Wrestling Entertainment and is scheduled to appear in the company’s Summerslam event in August.

Hunt is a 42 year-old fighter who hails from New Zealand and is the eighth ranked heavyweight in the UFC with a 12-10-1 overall record.  He is on a two fight winning streak after beating Frank Mir and Antonio Silva in his previous two bouts.  Hunt’s last loss came to current champ Stipe Miocic in May of last year.

UFC 200, in addition to hosting the Lesnar/Hunt fight, is also scheduled to see Daniel Cormier defend his title versus Jon Jones, Miesha Tate taking on Amanda Nunes, and Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar battling for the interim featherweight belt.
