When the Red Sox report to spring training in a few weeks, pitcher Jon Lester will be in the final year of his contract. Appearing Wednesday night at the Boston Baseball Writers annual awards banquet he discussed his desire to stay in Boston beyond next season even if it means taking a hometown discount to do so.

Despite a longer season because of their World Series run, Lester also said he threw his first bullpen session of the off-season to get ready for spring training. Check out his comments below.
