Let The Bogaerts Era Begin

20-year-old Xander Bogaerts is getting the call-up from the Red Sox. After zooming through the farm system and Sox are ready to see if the kid can give them a spark during this west coast roadtrip.

At 20-years-old, Bogaerts becomes the youngest positional player on the Sox since Dwight Evans played at the age of 20 back in 1972.

In 2009, Bogaerts (16-years-old) played at Mansfield Stadium in Bangor at the Senior League World Series for Latin America regional winner Aruba. His team went 3-1 in pool play and then lost in the semi-final. In fact, Bogaerts who played mostly shortstop, pitched the last four innings of that semi-final giving up five runs.
