He has spent his entire career with the New England Patriots but now Bob Quinn will change team colors as the Detroit Lions will name him as their new General Manager.

The 39 year old Quinn has spent 16 years with Patriots working his way through the organization and was most recently their Director of Pro Scouting.

In a press release issued by the Lions, President Rod Wood stated, "We are thrilled to have agreed to a deal with Bob to make him our new general manager. As [Martha] Ford indicated at the outset, our search would be national in scope, and we would do everything possible to identify the very best person to lead our football operation. We believe Bob is that person."

When Patriots Coach Bill Belichick was asked about the work Quinn has done for the Patriots he said the following. "Bob has done a good job," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said this week. "Been with us for a long time and has had a number of different responsibilities in the scouting department -- pro, college, advance -- different projects and all that. He's done a real solid job."

Quinn takes over a franchise that in the last 15 seasons has only finished over .500 twice with 2 playoff appearances.
