Simply put, the entire Sox offense was quiet vs Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson. He scattered four hits in eight innings. Closer Fernando Rodney gave up a hit and two walks before getting out of the jam.

Meanwhile, the Boston bullpen gave up the two Minnesota runs - first Heath Hembree and then Matt Barnes.

Sox drop to 71-33 and gave back a game in the standings to the Yankees who beat Kansas City 7-2.
