Two more league records came crashing down at the PVC/EMITL high school meet Saturday at the UMaine fieldhouse. This week, Aleta Looker of Ellsworth set the girls 800m record and Orono's David Frederick set the pole vault record.

It has been a record breaking indoor season - five new records set and one tied record.

In the girls 800m, Aleta Looker from Ellsworth set the new mark in 2:17.31. Hampden's Oriana Farley had held the record since 2003 (2:18.33).

In the boys pole vault, Orono's David Frederick vaulted 14-feet 1-inch. The old record was held by James Berry from Orono (14-feet) back in 2007.

Earlier in the indoor season Grace MacLean of Bangor broke the 55m hurdles and the high jump records, plus tied the long jump league record. Brewer's Teal Jackson broke the 400m record.

The PVC/EMITL championship meet is this Saturday, February 9th.
