LTC Battle For Top Spot On 92.9 The Ticket

Tonight marks the halfway point of the high school football season and with that brings a match-up of two undefeated teams in the LTC as MCI meets Mattanawcook Academy.Tonight's game takes place in Pittsfield and can be heard live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket, 929theticket.com or on the free mobile app Radio Pup.

This will be a rematch of last years LTC semifinal that the Huskies won 20-0. The defending champion MCI has had little problems getting off to their 3-0 start beating Washington Academy, Orono and Mt. View by a combined score of 185-18. The Huskies present a multiple attack offense with the running of Willie Moss, Eli Bussell and Alex Bertrand. That combined with the passing of senior quarterback Greg Vigue makes them a difficult match-up.

The Lynx came into the season with a new head coach in Pat House who has been with the program for 15 years as an assistant. While key members of the line were lost to graduation, Mattanawcook returns several skill players such as running backs Scott Jipson and Daniel Libby. Quarterback Carter Ward has a a couple of experienced senior wide receivers in Gunner Maxwell and Parker Gardner.
