Maine Battles Albany For First Place

It's America East showdown weekend between #1 Maine and #2 Albany. Three games to be played in New York with first place in the standings at stake.

Steve Trimper's Black Bears are 14-6 in conference games, the Great Danes are 13-8.

The stats show it should be a tight series. Maine leads AE with a team batting average of .298, Albany is number two at .279.

In the pitching department the Black Bears have the best ERA in the conference at 3.43. Albany is ranked fourth with a 4.76 ERA.

The Bears took two of the three games played at Mahaney Diamond in Orono earlier in the season.
