The Acadian Senior League team lost Saturday afternoon in a hard fought game to Connecticut 5-4 and were eliminated from the US East Regional Tournament.

Maine jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning. Stanley Grierson reached on an error and then advanced to 2nd base on a a sacrifice by Nick Stanley. He went to 3rd on a ground out by Seth Clark and scored on a single by Alden Fournier.

The Acadians added to their lead in the bottom of the 2nd. Riley Swanson doubled to start off the inning, and scored on Jose Chumbe's single. The Acadians nearly made it 3-0, but Johnny Norwood was out at the plate trying to score off of a fly to left by Grierson.

Connecticut scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd to tie the game, and it would stay tied until the bottom of the 5th inning when Maine would take a 4-2 lead. After Stanley and Chumbe walked, Fournier drove in both runners with a single, for his 3rd RBI of the game.

Connecticut tied it in the top of the 6th inning and then scored the winning run in the top of the 7th inning thanks to an error, wild pitch and sacrifice fly.

For Maine, Alden Fournier was 2-3 with 3 RBI's. Riley Swanson was 2-3 with a double.

Seth Clark started the game on the mound for Maine pitching 3.2 innings. He allowed 2 earned runs, on 1 hit. He struck out 5 and walked 6. Riley Swanson took the loss for Maine, going 3.1 innings. All 3 runs that Swanson allowed were unearned. He allowed 3 hits, struck out 8 and walked 2.
