When you attend a high school basketball game this week around the state of Maine you might notice something just a bit different when you see the referees...

High school refs will be using pink whistles rather than the standard black whistle. It's part of a program called "Blow the Whistle of Cancer". The pink whistle represents the cause of fighting cancer. Maine officials will donate part of their game fee to help cancer research.

The week-long "Blow the Whistle on Cancer" program is from January 28th through February 1st.
