Cornish, Maine native Steve Letarte and Dale Earnhardt Jr celebrated their fourth NASCAR win of the year. For the Cup Championship, it's one week too late.

Sunday's win at Richmond's short track is Earnhardt's first one there and he finally gets the grandfather clock that comes with the victory.

Earnhardt got knocked out of contention for the championship last week in Talladega.

Letarte is leaving as crew chief at the end of the season. He is joining the NBC Sports team that will broadcast races next year.

Letarte and his family lived in Cornish until he was 14. His dad built race cars for what was then the Busch North Series. The family moved to North Carolina.

Letarte has been a crew chief for both Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr.

Sunday's win was his 15th as a NASCAR crew chief.
